# Kylala

> Kylala is a free, private neighborhood app: a live map of your street where neighbors ask for a hand and raise one. No real names, no phone numbers, no ads.

Kylala is the app at https://app.kylala.com/; this site (https://kylala.com/) describes it in English, Français, Deutsch, Español. Price: 0 EUR, free in both directions: asking is free and helping is free. Platforms: progressive web app (PWA); no app store version, on purpose. Every fact, the privacy guarantees as the code states them and the FAQ in four languages are in llms-full.txt; the manifest both files are rendered from is /content/facts.json.

What Kylala is:

- A live map of one street: every ask is a pin, and the list under the map shows the same asks.
- A tool you open when you need a neighbor (or can be one), not a place to scroll.
- Free in both directions: asking is free and helping is free; no subscription exists.
- Private by construction: nickname and generated portrait, address shown to nobody, pin precision as your choice.
- A web app (PWA) for iPhone, Android and desktop browsers, installable from the browser, in English, French, German and Spanish.
- Trust in two gentle steps: verified by being around home on three different days (or by the street's default), vouched for by a code from a vouched neighbor, a vouched steward's door or the street keeper; no documents, ever.

What Kylala is not:

- No real names: a nickname and a generated face; the profile has no real-name field; a first name is shared per conversation, or never.
- No ads, no analytics, no trackers, no cookies, no data sales, on the website or in the app.
- No feed to scroll and no archive: a map of open asks and the list under it; nothing ranked for engagement; asks fade after 14 days.
- No crime-and-fear category: a heads-up is practical news, never an alert about people.
- No phone number needed and no email shared: neighbors see a nickname and a generated face, never your email or your number. Your email is never kept on Kylala’s servers; what we keep from a Google or email sign-in is one opaque account id from the provider, and nothing else.
- No prices, ratings, pro badges or paid placement anywhere, including standing offers ("Your offers").
- No pings you did not ask for: a ring is earned by someone waiting on you, or by an interest alert you switched on, two a day at most.
- No app store: it installs from the browser.
